WHAT DO WE TEACH
Key financial literacy concepts are introduced and explained in the programme through interactive activities and games, inspiring personal stories and highly energetic participation.
GetWise is not about specific banking products and services and the programme is not designed to sell anything to the audience.
Topics covered include:
The difference between casual, part-time and full-time work
Getting a job: how to get experience and qualifications
Paying tax: what is it and how to do it
Employee rights and responsibilities
Spending money: credit cards, debit cards, and debt
Saving money: how to set realistic savings goals
GetWise workshops and resources are entirely free. Our facilitators will provide the schools they visit with a copy of the GetWise teacher resource kit, complete with suggested lesson plans and ideas for further activities to ensure the learning can continue long after they leave.
The intermediate workshop is specifically designed for students in Year 7 and 8, and maps to the Level 4 curriculum. All of our sessions run for 45 minutes to one hour.
